HTC’s upcoming smartphone, very timely (and unimaginatively) named the HTC Holiday was found floating on Craiglist for sale. One XDA Developer forum member promptly purchased the alleged phone and found out that it was the real thing. (UPDATE: Thread is now deleted!)
As you can see from the pics above, the HTC Holiday is sporting a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM. The Holiday has a tantalizing 4.5″ QHD screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. Interestingly the current prototype is running on Android 2.3.4 which leads us to believe that it might be out well before Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich. The Holiday also comes with a dual-flash 8mp rear camera while the one on the front is the standard 1.3mp camera.
You’ll also notice on the back, just above the ugly “California” sticker, that there’s a small conductive port, which leads us to believe that the HTC Holiday will come with a desktop charge stand of some sort so you leave the smartphone standing face forward.
Make what you will about the design of the HTC Holiday, but rest assured that we’ll have a review for it as soon as it’s available in the local markets.
