Facebook now lets you add your unborn child to Friends & Family

And give it a name and picture too!

Facebook now allows expectant parents to easily share the good news via an automated family member status option.

The social networking giant had quietly rolled out the option last Wednesday, which allows the going-to-bes’ to include their unborn child under the Friends and Family section. The option even allows to add a photo, a name and the due date of the child.

Once added, the system will automatically announce the arrival on the due date listed.

The option was added to keep parents from creating Facebook profiles for their new born – and breaking Facebook’s terms of service.

“We’re always testing new features,” a Facebook spokesperson old Mashable. “Earlier this year, Facebook started providing the option to add an ‘Expected: Child’ as a way for users to more accurately express their identity.”

That’s a pretty good option, especially for those Facebook addicts that needs to announce every bit that’s happening in their lives, even while their child is being born. But what if the delivery doesn’t go as planned?
