The ‘cheap’ iPhone will have to do with plastic coverings.
We have been all reading about that iPhone for quite sometime now, haven’t we? You know, the one that will make Apple’s magical device more affordable to combat Android’s ridiculous rise? Yup, the ‘cheap’ iPhone, or as today’s report claims, the iPhone Lite.
A Vietnamese blog has leaked the first images of the so called iPhone Lite model, showing a pretty similar device to the iPhone 4 with a tiny little change – it’s got no glass. The front and back coverings are replaced with regular plastic held together by small plastic hinges. Now, judging from how a smudge is formed on the plastic, and how the light reflects from it, our first intuition is that it’s just a regular screen protector. Or that Apple is using really cheap plastic panels. I guess that’s how costs are cut, right?
Apple has yet to announced a iPhone Lite model, though we might hear something about them in the September conference if the rumors hold up.
