New smartphones to be available from Q3 2011 in the Middle East.
Building on the success of the original mini-series, Sony Ericsson unveils two feature-rich and compact smartphones – Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro. The versatile phones offer a complete multimedia entertainment experience and instant communication.
Both Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro enable access to over 150,000 apps on the Android Market and have a three-inch scratch-resistant, multi-touch glass screen. The improved user interface allows up to 16 apps displayed on the home screen.
The innovative smartphones are powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and run the latest platform of Google’s Android Gingerbread 2.3. Beautifully designed, Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro both integrate best-in-class imaging and display technology from Sony, including Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and HD video recording (720p).
Rudiger Odenbach, General Manager, Middle East & Africa, Sony Ericsson, said: “People are becoming increasingly reliant on their smartphones for instant communication. Built on the success of the original mini-series, the new range runs on the latest Android operating system providing a flexible interface for better communication. These turbo-charged smartphones address the needs of today’s user by providing several feature-rich applications with a smart and easy-to-use design/device.”
The improved Xperia mini pro brings the optimized slide-out QWERTY keyboard for fast messaging. A fast type and send functionality eliminates the need to open a dedicated app for each type of message, while a smart keyboard triggers predictive messaging actions automatically when slid out. Xperia mini pro also comes pre-loaded with Office Suite and McAfee antivirus software, allowing consumers to manage documents and e-mails instantly and securely while on the move.
Xperia Mini Pro
Facebook inside Xperia – an exclusive feature for the Xperia family, provides a unique social media integration. Included in the new Xperia mini and mini pro, the networking site is immediately accessible from the most used areas of the phone such as the picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar. Furthermore, users are also allowed to ‘like’, share and comment more easily than ever.
Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro and Xperia mini will be available across all leading stores in the Middle East from the third quarter of 2011.
