iOS 5 Beta jailbroken within 24 hours

Surprise, surprise!

The inevitable has happened, although rather quickly this time around. Within 24 hours after Apple announced iOS 5 and released a limited beta, hackers have managed to crack the code and jailbreak the new operating system.

Twitter user MuscleNerd posted the news, saying that the iOS 5 presented “not too many surprises”.

The jailbreak is only possible via limera1n tethered exploit, and it could be a while before an untethered solution pops up.

The jailbreak itself is not the surprise, what is that how quickly it was possible. With a major system upgrade, it was expected of Apple to ramp up the security but it does not seem to be the case, at least not in the beta.

iOS 5 is expected to release in Autumn this year.
