Etisalat updates Tawa’am service codes

Etisalat today announced the enhancement of its Tawa’am dual-SIM single-number service, offering customers the convenience of revised and simplified customer codes. Available for both Wasel pre-paid and post-paid accounts, Etisalat’s Tawa’am service allows customers to share the same mobile number between two SIM (duplicate) cards, thus providing control and flexibility.

Tawa’am service is ideal for customer with multiple mobile phones, especially those maintaining separate devices in different locations such as home, car, boat and so on. Customers can simultaneously make voice calls, send SMS and access Internet from both their activated devices at the same time. It serves as a backup option to connect with friends or family in the eventuality of losing one of the SIM cards or when one of the devices stops functioning. It also minimizes the hassle and risk of swapping SIM cards from one phone to another.

As per the new structure of service codes, customers benefit from easier, unified commands as per the following table.

Commenting on the service enhancement, Omar Al Muzakki, Vice President – Product Marketing, Etisalat said, “As the only operator in the UAE to provide this unique service, we understand that our customers have very distinct requirements based on their on-the-go, fast-paced lifestyles. While the service efficiently meets their demand for increased flexibility with a single number on two devices for voice and data usage on both, our regular upgrades to the service ensures increased convenience and ease of use.”

Etisalat’s existing GSM postpaid and Wasel pre-paid customers are eligible for the service and have the option for a single bill for GSM usage while allowing family, friends or colleagues to use the same number in their absence.

    and this update caused all Tawa’am numbers go offline with no ability to receive any calls for more than 10 hours yesterday’s morning.
    That was really disappointing, I was stuck with my office phone all the day, just to make sure I don’t miss any calls.
