No iCLoud goodness for the ten year old bugger.
As much as Windows XP is popular, it is getting old now, and as Windows 7 gains popularity, developers are showing less and lesser interest in supporting the ten year old platform. It seems Apple is joining the list as well, with them announcing that its upcoming iCloud service will not be supported on Microsoft’ most popular OS.
As TUAW points out, the company’s press release states: “Using iCloud with a PC requires Windows Vista or Windows 7; Outlook 2010 or 2007 is recommended for accessing contacts and calendars.”
Currently, MobileMe and even iTunes 10.3 support Windows XP, however, exclusion of the OS from its new service could mean that Apple may be toying around with the idea to drop support for the platform entirely.
