Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

While it’s still ‘getting there’, Sony’s gaming smartphone has impressed us enough to get our Product of the Week title.


“In the end, the Xperia Play is targeted towards a very specific market, i.e. those who want to enjoy their games beyond the limitations of a touchscreen. Sony is doing a very barebones job of providing more Xperia Play specific games, not to mention more PS One classics on the store for the time being. And while Sony is still lacking behind in supporting the Xperia Play with more titles, you can get far more out of this smartphone if you use emulators for consoles of yore. The simple fact is that if you want tactile feedback and the feeling of playing games on a controller, the Xperia Play is your one stop shop. Otherwise there are many other Android phones out in the market that not only cost less, but are also more powerful.”
