Nokia falls nearly to half year-over-year.

According to analytics firm Gartner, Android is sweeping the floor with the competition. In a more nerd-stats words, Android has grown exponentially year-over-year to grab a chunky 36% market share in Q1 2011. Android only had a share of 9.6% in 2010, and its super fast growth is a testament to its gaining popularity.

Nokia still holds the second position with 27.4%, however year-over-year, the Finnish company has fallen from its dominating 44% market share in 2010. Apple iOS came in third with 16.8% market share, followed by RIM (12.9%) and Microsoft (3.6%).
