Microsoft looks to bring an app store to its upcoming OS ala Mac OS X.

CnBeta has leaked a series of screenshots that clearly showcase Microsoft’s newest addition to Windows 8: an App Store.

Much similar to Apple’s App Store for Mac OSX, the Windows 8 store seems to be offering freeware and shareware applications from companies like Opera, Mozilla, Google, etc.  In the screenshots, the store appears to be running on Windows 7, hinting that Microsoft may very well bring the App Store to the present platform as well.

Interestingly, Microsoft is continuing the use of the term ‘App Store’ despite an on-going battle with Apple over the usage of the term.
