The best audio to please your ears.

With the Summer season upon us, and tablets coming out left and right, smartphones launching up and down, isn’t this also the right time to consider getting a new (and perhaps better) pair of headphones? I mean, there will be a lot of blockbusters coming out, a lot of cool music and a whole lot of our existing games that need to be heard in the best possible way.

With that in mind, today I’ll be looking at some of the best headphones you can find in the UAE nowadays. The list is a mix & match for the audiophiles; those who love to listen to their music, enjoy their moves and games as well. Stereo drivers and 5.1 outputs included.

So without further ado, I’ll bring your attention to the Sennheiser HD 800 headphones. This is literally the best headphones Sennheiser currently make.

The Sennheiser HD 800 provide a level of transparency between you and the music like you’ll have never experienced before. From the lowest level of volume to as high as your ears can handle, the HD 800 will surround you in pitch-perfect music. Basically once you splurge on the HD 800, you’ll not need another pair of headphones for years.

You can read the full review here and find out in detail why the Sennheiser HD 800 deserves top spot on our list.

I’m sorry, but Beats are nothing more than overpriced $100 dollar headphones. Your full review states they are headphones aimed at audiophiles…. you are sorely mistaken. They are aimed at kids who don’t know any better. Their build quality is atrocious, their sound is average at best, and your paying a price for a premium audiophile headphone when in actual reality you’ll receive a cheap, plasticky head accessory. Aimed at audiophiles? You must be confused or have never heard quality sound reproduction.

It all comes down to personal taste. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of people go by their whole lives without having experienced, what audiophiles consider to be, “good sound”. As such it’s difficult to say that Beats By Dre are not audiophile headphones. Personally I haven’t tested those headphones, so I’m in no position to make a judgement call on it, but our reviewer certainly can.

I agree yet disagree. I agree that treasure is in the eye of the beholder, but I disagree that it’s difficult to dismiss Beats as headphones aimed at an audiophile demographic. I’ve heard Beats By Dre and their bass reproduction overshadows every other sound spectrum. While that is certainly not a bad thing, there are a number of headphones which sound monumentally better for a third of the price. Tacking on an inflated price to a headphone does not automatically make it audiophile. Recommending them as worthwhile headphones, to me, makes the reviewer sound disingenuous at best and deceitful at worst.

    Hi Taimoor

Great review as always. just a clarification. on the tactic 3dsigma review, the price was listed as 600. on this article, you’ve listed it as 320. Which one is it?

If both the sigma and the kave retail for the same price, which one would you recommend?

    cheers

The price was AED 600 at the time of review, but it may have changed now.

To answer your second question: Hmm, tough one. I would choose the Kave, despite it not being as comfortable as the Tactic3D. The 5.1 is truly great and I believe is much better than Tactic’s stimulated one. Also, the Rumble feature in Kave is simply fantastic. It adds so much immersion to a game! However, Tactic is USB powered while Kave needs three 3.5m jacks on your sound card. If you have speakers that is attached to your sound card, this could be a problem.

        Hi Mufaddal

I’ve been trying to find the Roccat Kave but no shops in MOE, Ibn Batuta or Times Square Center has them :( Would you mind letting us know where you got your samples from? When I click on the “Where to Buy” section on the Kave review, it takes me to the print version of the review.

Also, between the Razer Megalodon and the Logitech G35, which one would you recommend?

        :)

Roccat is available at Emax and Computer Plaza in Dubai, and Ecity in AUH.

I haven’t tried the Logitech G35, but I have the Megalodon and honestly, they sounded just terrible.

Beats are an audiophile’s headphones in the same way an iPhone is a film fanatic’s home theatre system…

It’s amazing what good marketing can do for a slick-looking over-priced pair of average headphones.

dre beats are way too overpriced  true the sennheisers are more expensive at 1500$ but they are worth every penny

If you want the best sound and comfort …ESMOOTH headphones are the way to go i have a pair and because they are made of wood housing they are very light less then an ounce.

I heard they will be available in the U.A.E in a couple of months ..
