Samsung Galaxy S II to get a processor upgrade

Samsung’s flagship smartphone will now pack in a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

Samsung has apparently had a change of heart and have decided to juice up the current processor on its flagship smartphone Galaxy S II to run it on 1.2Ghz speed. The dual-core Cortex A9 CPU was set at 1GHz previously.

According GSMArena, the company’s Estonian office’s Facebook page slipped up the news. The site then got a further confirmation from an ‘internal source’.

It’s unusual for a company to jump specs midway through manufacturing. Is Samsung feel inadequate again?
