A new analyst report suggests that iPhone 5 will feature A5 processor, 8MP camera, and a new antenna design.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, of Concord Securities, issued a note on Monday offering alleged details of the next iPhone. According to his ‘checks’ with supply chain sources, the next iPhone, possibly iPhone 5, will have several of the rumored features when it launches sometimes later this year.
Kuo said that the iPhone 5 will include the faster A5 processor already found in the iPad 2, an 8MP camera, new antenna design and a Qualcomm baseband for both GSM and CDMA on all models so that Apple would not have to produce multiple variants of the device for different carriers.
Kuo has been told that the new iPhone will go into trial production in August and in full gear from September. Apple aims to release the device soon after, probably in its next fiscal year which starts from October.
Due to constrained supplies resulting from the earthquake and tsnumai disaster that hit Japan, Kuo says that Apple may not announce the fifth-generation iPod Touch as it usually does in September.
