Gesture-based mouse driver launches applications by drawing letters, symbols.

Electronics hobbyist Jacob Pennock has managed to convert the Playstation Move controller into a gesture-based mouse, thanks to Sony’s Move.me C library.

The gesture-based mouse driver is showcased in the the video below. In the clip, Pennock performs a variety of tasks with the Move, apparently as easily as with a mouse. Using the driver, you could simply draw an ‘F’ to launch Facebook, draw an ‘X’ sign to close a window or a ‘V’ to launch your favorite media player, etc. You can also make it perform window re-sizes, drag, and if on Linux, make it switch between multiple desktops as well. Pennock has built his own gesture recognition library, called hyperglyph, which he claims can record motions with 98 percent accuracy.

Pennock will be keeping the source code under wraps as Move.me is currently in a closed beta stage.
