After President’s remarks about the lack of ‘cool’ technology in his office, Microsoft jumps in to offer one.
If there is one lair of cool technological gadgets that can put Batman’s own into shame, it would be the Oval Office of the president of the United States of America – or so the countless Hollywood movies, for more than a decade, had led us to believe. So we can’t really blame Barack Obama into expecting a Dexter Laboratory-esque office when he took position as the president of the country. Surely the most powerful man in the world would have big screens and flashy smartphones, right? Not quite, apparently.
“The Oval Office, I always thought I was going to have really cool phones and stuff,” he admitted during a small fundraising event at a Chicago restaurant. “I’m like, c’mon guys, I’m the president of the United States. Where’s the fancy buttons and stuff and the big screen comes up? It doesn’t happen.”
Seeing his plight, and always eager to hand over its devices to anyone who would make news, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 team immediately jumped up on the story and fired a tweet at Obama, offering the president one of its ‘cool’ mobile devices.
“Hey @BarackObama, we hear you want a cool phone – how about a Windows Phone 7? We can send one your way!http://fxn.ws/eflCNx #WP7”
Cheeky. I wonder if the president will take up on the offer. But considering a president always multitasks various matters at once, I suggest he hold on till the ‘Mango’ update is available, at least.
