Front camera trickery makes images on the iPad 2 pop out.

While we wait for Apple to eventually come around 3D displays for its iOS devices, two guys from Laboratory of Informatics of Grenoble, EHCI Research Group have already created a software that does just that. Sort of.

Called the ‘Head Coupled Perspective’, the software uses the front facing camera on the iPad 2 to produce a Nintendo 3DS-esque glasses-free 3D effect by placing images in an accordance to your head movements.

This is a fantastic found and we hope that, at least, iOS game developers uses the method to incorporate it into their games.
