Toshiba to bring glasses-free 3D gadgets from July.

At COMEX in Oman this year, Toshiba confirmed that it will be bringing glasses-free 3D laptops and televisions to the country by July and December this year.

Santosh Varghese, divisional regional general manager for the MENA region, said: ”Toshiba has now come up with 3D TVs without glasses. We have launched this in Japan and we will be launching it here. We even have this concept with the notebooks. Today you see 3D notebooks with glasses but come July you are going to see 3D notebooks without glasses. We are the only brand which has this technology.

“The notebooks will be launched in July and will be ideal for gamers and people who watch movies on their notebooks.”

Prices for the gadgets were not announced, however Varghese admitted that they will be high initially.

“With some of these TVs, price will depend on volume. The price will initially be on the higher side, but that will change as it gets popular. 3D TVs with glasses are quite popular now,” he said.
