Two communication directors quit for roles at Apple inc.
According to reports from MCV, Apple has managed to rope in two high profile PR executives from Nintendo’s and Activision’s UK branch.
Earlier last week, Rob Saunders, UK Nintendo Communications Chief, had quit his job and apparently moved to a newly created role at Apple, most likely heading up public relations for gaming applications on the iPad, iPhone and iPod. Saunders had been a Nintendo employee for about seven years and was heavily involved with the launch of Wii and DS consoles.
Nick Grange was the second man in. He was Activision’s European Public Relations Director, who has now jumped aboard the Apple ship in a position which is “focused on iPad hardware”, though his exact position is unclear.
Apple is surely ramping up its focus on gaming. This should be interesting if Apple wishes to announce something on this front at the WWDC in June this year.
