Cancellations of shipment orders beyond June suggests a new version is in the works.
Motorola XOOM has only just released (amidst a mixture of positive and negative reviews) and the ‘hello moto’ company is already looking to build a new version of the tablet. In fact, according to Digitimes, Motorola may spin out a XOOM v2 as early as the end of this year.
This stems from the fact that Motorola has ordered no shipments of XOOM beyond that of March. The company will also be reducing its shipment intake, with a drop of around 300,000 units in April from 400-500,000 in March, and below 300,000 in May.
A new version so soon is rather unusual from any company, and so it would interesting to see what the Moto guys have up their sleeve. We hope its Tegra 3.
