Apple uncertain to due to lack of industry standards on the tech.

Were you looking forward to wave and swipe your iPhone 5 to make your payments in the near future? According to The Independent - not going to happen.

The US newspaper is reporting that Apple will not be implementing the Near Field Communication technology on its next iPhone due to a “lack of clear standard across the industry”. The news comes from UK carriers who, apparently, have got the word directly from Apple itself.

In fact, Apple is currently working on its own NFC service which it hopes to integrate with its iPhone model of next year.

“Apple is understood to be working on its own NFC proposition, which would link payments through iTunes. It hopes to introduce the technology in a handset likely to be released next year.”
