iPhone’s personal hotspot feature to support only 3 WiFi connections

Other two slots reserved for Bluetooth and USB.

When Apple announced the personal hotspot feature to be included in the upcoming iOS 4.3 update, most of us techies assumed that the iPhone will be able to hold at least 5 connections over WiFi. That’s norm, right? Not for Apple it isn’t.

Engadget has found out that only three WiFi devices will be able to connect to iPhone 4′s hotspot, with the other two reserved for Bluetooth and USB connections.

While it is unlikely that you will ever be in a situation when five PCs are vying to be connected with your iPhone 4, those who were actually banking on this will surely be disappointed.

Of course, if you have a Jailbroken phone, not only do you have this function already, you will be able to use all five slots for WiFi connections, too. Just saying.
