AMD’s behemoth takes the crown, yet again.

Good: Extremely fast, Can easily support Eyefinity, All that power on one card
Bad: Too loud under load, May not fit in all cases
Price: AED 2,800

Well, now let’s get down to business and see what the fastest graphics card in the world is capable of. Our testbed consists of an Intel Core i7-2600K, Kingston HyperX T1 4GB DDR3-2200MHz memory, Gigabyte P67A-UD7 motherboard, Kingston V-Series 64GB SSD with Windows 7 Ultimate running on it; all of which is powered by a Cooler Master 1200W Silent Pro Gold PSU. For comparisons I have selected the AMD HD 6970, MSI R6950, Zotac GTX 580 and 570 AMP! Edition.

Well, no surprises there, the HD 6990 trounces everything in everything. Metro 2033 and StarCraft II are very dependent on the CPU as well, which explains the lower discrepancy between the HD 6990 and GTX 580.

    Question on a personal choice.
If you could pick a graphics card which had all the features such as display , noise , heat generation , power consumption , space requirement which would it be? Price factor can’t come into play since one has to give one a variable when asking for positive results from other constraints..

Well, I’ll be in a much better position to answer that question on 24th of March ;)
On the other hand, if I had to answer your questions with all the cards available in the market right now, then it would have to be the HD 6990. That said, if I had a three or four monitor setup, then I would go with two GTX 580s in SLI.
