Your iPad can now filter searches

Apple adds search filters for iPad’s app store.

One of the major complaints by users towards the Apple App Store is the lack of a proper way to shuffle through the 100,000 apps there are. Despite previous attempts from the Cupertino-company to help sort the myriad of apps with services like Genius and a ‘top grossing section’ on the homepage, poor quality apps (a.k.a spam) does manage to seep in time and again (okay, a lot of the time).

To finally rectify this annoying problem, Apple had tweaked the iPad edition of the App Store recently, adding much needed filters to search results. Now a bar sits on the top of the search page, allowing users to filter search results by category, release date, price, customer rating, and device. There is also a button to clear all filters.

No word on when this will be ported over to the iPhone, but we are crossing our fingers and hoping for a ‘soon’.
