The two charger models will cost upto $2,405.

Toyota will start selling home battery chargers for electric and plug-in hybrid cars next year as it rolls out new models of green cars, according to a report from Reuters.

The chargers will be compatible with non-Toyota cars, and will come in flavors. One that could be extended from the exterior wall of a home and the other meant for use in a garage. The company expects to sell at least 20, 000 to 30, 000 units in the first year. The cost of each charger, including installation costs, can come upto $2405.

This comes in line with Toyota’s upcoming launch of a new Pirus-based plug-in hybird early next year, which the company expects to sell more than 50,000 units a year. The car will mainly be available in Japan, USA, and Europe.
