With iPad 2 not even out, rumors of a third iPad have already started circulating the interwebs.
Planning to buy iPad 2 this spring? Yeaaah, you might want to hold on to that. Fresh rumors of the iPad 3 have started seeping through the ever spinning world of interwebs. Two popular tech sites are reporting from different sources that Apple is planning to throw in a shocker this year by releasing the iPad 3 in a short span of a few months after the iPad 2. More specifically, in Fall.
Daring Fireball says, “Summer feels like a long time away. If my theory is right, they’re not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3. And not only did they announce this with a distant ship date, they did it with no word on pricing.”
AOL owned TechCrunch are also reporting the same thing, albeit, hopefully from a different source.
“We’ve now heard that this “fall surprise” is related to this would-be iPad 3. We don’t have any more concrete information beyond that. But, as of right now, the plan is apparently to release one iteration of the iPad in the next few weeks. And then blow the doors open with another new version in the fall.”
This seems highly unlikely as it falls beyond Apple’s usual modus operandi. However, it is not like they have not ever done this before. They have a history updating their notebooks in Spring and then again in Fall, so there is a whole lot of possibility that they may down the same well for the iPad. Take this on a pinch of salt, unless some bloke from China proves this correct.
