New report suggest that Apple has already begin production of the much awaited successor to the tablet-bringer iPad.
Apple has begun production of the new iPad 2, if sources close to The Wall Street Journal are to be believed. Rumors of the much anticipated iPad 2 has been circulating the interwebs for many months, and the rumor mills have started spinning extra hard this year as the date for eventual announcement draws nigh.
The new iPad will thinner and lighter, according to sources ‘familiar with the matter’. It will have a front camera for features like video-conferencing, but the display will remain similar to the first iPad. This comes contrary to other rumors suggesting that the next iPad will feature either a new type of display or double the resolution. It will also have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor.
The iPad 2 will initially be sold through Apple’s two U.S partners AT&T and Verizon, though the sources failed to mention a retail for the device.
A spokeswoman from Apple declined to comment.
