Leaked images of what could potentially be the display for the upcoming iPad display.
Several images have recently surfaced from 9to5Mac which show what appears to be the latest display for the iPad 2.
The new LCD screen is about a millimetre skinnier plus is said to be lighter than than its predecessor. The bezel also seems to have been slimmed down. It is, as of now, unclear as to the exact resolution of the new displays but they are rumoured to be 1024×768- Far short of retina resolutions.
A commenter on the site has also decoded several codes which appear in the images:
- (LP)097×02 SLN1= LG Phillips
- LP(097)x02 SLN1= 9.7 inch display
- LP097x(02) SLN1= used on displays with xga,sxga,wsxga
- LP097x02 (SL)N1= H-IPS
- LP097x02 SL (N1)= Not sure
“So Lg Phillips 9.7in XGA 1024×768 H-IPS display”
The images, of now, are unconfirmed and it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll get a confirmation any time soon.
