Nokia said to be announcing partnership with Microsoft tomorrow.

The mobile phone market seems to be heating up in a major way, from CES to MWC this year plus the million’s (yes, millions) of rumours floating around about potential phones and collaborations.

This latest rumour just adds to that deluge of phone news. Nokia is supposedly going to announce a tie-up with Microsoft later this week. This will put the Windows Phone 7 on their devices just after the news that they were going to drop their own platform MeeGo even before it’s launch.

The sad bit is that they Nokia is also said to have spoken to Google’s Eric Schmidt about a tie in but those are said to have failed.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop is said to be making the announcement confirming the rumour tomorrow.

tried Windows Phone 7 – surprisingly sleek; long way to catch up – but a strong alternative nonetheless
