Only in Japan though.

If you’re one of the many out there who fell in love with the ‘satin silver’ version of the PS2 well you’re in luck. Sony has heard your prayers and a Silver PS3 is set to be out to the public come this 10th of March. The public in Japan that is.

Yeap, this beaut is set to be available to Japanese consumers on the 10th of March and though there aren’t any changes in specs the shell alone is something to be desired. The 160GB model (CECH-2500A SS) selling for ¥29,980 ( $366) while the 320GB (CECH-2500B SS) costs ¥34,980 ($427).

Get chummy with your Japanese buds, they might come in handy soon.

I really don’t get it why all these consoles have to have a odd shape.

Why cant they make it into a DVD/BR form factor, it’s got the same functions as one, and it would fit in mouths better whit the rest of my stereo equipment i now have.

But that could be just me ^_^

If you lay the PS3 horizontally, its not TOO far off from looking like a standard A/V device. But I guess the reason they make changes to the form factor is that they dont want it looking like a standard device

So that’s still no problem, as they can make 2 different models.

Its not going to raise prices if they would make 2 different models, as they have to change noting to the hardware, but then you can have the PSU inside, also people needing to buying a BR player could easier consider a PS3, and sale’s people could also advice it easier.

But like i said before, that could be just me ^_^
But i would had considered one sooner ;-)
