Hackers bring WP7 functionality to Apple world. Ballmer screams in rage. Just kidding (?).

At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress, Microsoft showed a unique WP7 feature that allowed direct interaction with a Kinect game on the Xbox 360, such as manually controlling the dodgeball in one of Kinect’s launch titles.

Now you must be wondering – looking at what hackers have achieved so far with the Kinect, this would be easy-peesy to port to over to other platforms such as iOS, right? Actually, yeah.

Folks over at Supertouch, at the risk of enraging Steve Ballmer, have developed similar functionality for the iPhone and iPad that allows them to hurl virtual dodgeballs using Kinect. The software appears to be pretty much exactly what Microsoft showcased at the mobile event, albeit with…less eye pleasing graphics.
