Kindle Books Outsells Paperbacks

The beginning of the death of the trusty old paperback. Amazons reveals that it’s kindle e-books have outsold paperbacks on its site.

Purists will surely not like this latest statistic coming from the Amazon offices. Amazon’s Kindle e-books now outsell paperbacks, and by quite a bit too. According to reports emerging from Amazons Quarterly call, for every 100 paperbacks that are sold on their site, 115 kindle e-books are sold. This, in contrast is still a relatively small figure considering the fact that for every 100 Hardbacks that are sold, Amazon sells a stunning 300 kindle e-books.

These statistics are only set to grow with the growth of the tablet industry. The kindle reader itself (The third generation version) is also now their greatest selling product in the company’s history, stealing the crown from J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
