What I really like about the Stone 2 is that the design looks so simple and yet, it’s packed with so many features. Remove the headset from the dock by pushing your thumb underneath the dock and it instantly turns on. The Stone 2 comes with voice instructions on startup and an even as you pair your phone with the device. The only annoying part is that the voice starts as soon as you remove it from the dock and even before you’ve had a chance to put the earpiece on. However, you’re not missing anything crucial right at the beginning and can probably live without the initial greeting. Volume controls can be activated by sliding your finger up and down the side of the headset. We like the fact that the device is completely devoid of buttons and still manages to pack all these features in.
Other voice controls in the phone include numbers being read out to you as you get an incoming call. You can simply say “answer” to answer calls or “ignore” to ignore them. You can further customize voice commands by downloading additional software.
The device also has A2DP which means you can stream the music from your phone in addition to voice calls. Quite handy for those long drives when your car stereo is not working. Plus, the 10 hour battery life means that you’re not constantly charging the headset every day.
