HTC joins the tablet wars with something…different.

Tags:

HTC joined the tablet game today by introducing their 7″ flyer tablet with a resolution of 1024×600. Based on a 1.5GHz single-core CPU, 1GB of RAM plus 32GB of flash storage, the flyer comes with a pressure-sensitive capacitive stylus which is great for someone that likes to add little things likes notes etc. to a document. We didn’t get a chance to play with the device that was behind closed shelves, however, enjoy a video of some of its features.

What is interesting to note is that the flyer, unlike other tablets, is not based on Android HoneyComb 3.0 but instead Android 2.4. Wonder how that will play as Google doesn’t officially support anything under 3.0 for tablets. It will carry the HTC Sense interface that, IMHO, is still the best user interface for Android devices. Expect the device to be available in Q2. No word on pricing.
