HTC confirms Facebook-centric phones

New HTC Facebook phones are called Salsa and Chacha.

HTC has confirmed the rumored Facebook phones in a press release issued today. Though the company is not actually calling them ‘Facebook phones’, which technically won’t be right, they are but Facebook-oriented with a light blue ‘F’ donning the bottom bar of the two phones. The Facebook button will be context-aware, and will pulsate any time there’s an opportunity to share whatever that you are reading/watching.

Lets do a chacha-cha!

The phones are called HTC Salsa, a  3.4″ touchscreen device, and HTC Chacha, which sports a 2.6″ screen with portrait QWERTY keyboard. Both the phones will run on Android 2.4 powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7277, 512MB of RAM and ROM, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and a front-facing VGA cam.

Groove to the Salsa!

Both of the Facebook-centric phones are scheduled to launch globally at the end of Q2 2011. No pricing have been mentioned.
