The ‘entirely plastic-free’ Eco mouse gives 1000 DPI and a scroll wheel.

Fujitsu has gone ahead and pulled a first – a plastic-free, biodegradable computer mouse that offers 1000 DPI and that warm fuzzy feeling that comes along by doing good deeds.

The mouse is called Eco (but of course!), and joins the KBPC PX Eco keyboard to form the perfect pair. While the mouse may not offer high-end functionality, though the press release calls the optical sensor and the included scroll wheel ‘latest functionality’, the switch to biodegradable materials will save around 60,000 kilograms of plastic per year, so that’s all good.

Chandan Mehta, Product Manager at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says, “It’s the little things that add up: we’re continuing to prove that it’s possible to eliminate the use of non-renewable sources from the IT lifecycle. Fujitsu underlines its commitment to innovative green products for the desktop, starting with the new ECO mouse, through to the proGREEN selection. By choosing this mouse, environmentally-conscious businesses can feel good that they are helping reduce CO2 emissions without sacrificing durability or comfort – and without having to pay any extra.”

The M440 Eco mouse is now available immediately across the MEA region. Go get your green fix.
