Blackberry working to bring Android Apps to Playbook: Bloomberg

RIM reportedly has an in-house team working to bring Android to its Playbook.

Bloomberg seems to have gotten a hold of some inside information that many of us dreamed of hearing. Blackberry is working to bring Android Apps to it’s Playbook tablet. This of course adds the weight of Androids 200,000+ app library behind Research in Motions Playbook but also might give some sort of Legitimacy to the ‘play’ in the Playbooks name.

While many thought that this would be accomplished using the Dalvik Java emulator it seems RIM is trying to find a work around to this as it does not want to get involved in the legal issues surrounding Google and Oracle.

The Company is said to be working on a solution in-house with results reportedly set to be announced sometime mid 2011. We wait with baited breath.
