Nokia chose Microsoft over Google though options ‘still open’

This latest bit of news from Engadget doesn’t really come as much of a surprise at all as it would be pretty evident that if Nokia was in the market for a new OS Android would be in the picture. Either way, Eric Schmidt, in his speech at the Mobile world Congress confirmed what many of us already knew: Nokia chose Windows Phone 7 over Android.

Whether or not this has something to do with the fact that Stephen Elop, Nokia’s new CEO, is an ex-Microsoft chap or not is debatable but as of now Schmidt states that Google “would’ve loved” having Nokia with them and that the offer to the Finnish mobile  giant “is still open”
