Sony’s beautiful and powerful Android handset.

One of the more exciting Android based handsets coming up is the Sony Xperia Arc. Although the older versions of Xperia may have disappointed some by using a not-so-cutting-edge version of Android, Sony has equipped the Arc with Gingerbread 2.3 which, at the moment, is only officially available on the Nexus S.

The 8.7mm think hardware looks pretty slick and with 4.2″ LCD powered by the mobile Bravia Engine and an 8.1MP Exmor mobile sensor with a f2.4 lens for supposedly awesome low-light shots. Add the built-in HDMI connector to the mix and the Xperia Arc should emerge as one of the best Android based Smartphones for the first half of the year.

No official word from Sony on the pricing but they are looking at getting it in your hands by March this year.
