Expected to be announced at Google I/O.
According to Pocket-Lint, sources ‘familiar’ with the matter has claimed that Android 2.4 will be called Ice Cream, and will be unveiled in Spring this year.
The name fits with Google’s alphabetical naming convention, which follows Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread and Honeycomb.
Sources also claim that Android 2.4 will be announced at the annual Google I/O developers conference, and will release in June or July. The new OS is expected to have some of the features of Honeycomb, but may not be a smartphone version of what is largely believed to be a tablet-only operating system.
