Mozilla upping the pace for final release.
Firefox beta testers, we have a new toy you can play with. Mozilla today released the beta 10 of its awaited browser update Firefox 4. Mozilla is looking to push a couple more betas before going final with their revamped browser.
The new beta is part of Mozilla’s refreshed plan to speed up the development process, hoping to match the robotic efficiency of Google in release regular updates. “This is the updated beta plan as discussed in the Platform meeting earlier today. It is a modification of the previous plan based on current bug counts and fix rates,” said Christian Legnitto, Firefox release manager.
Beta 11 and beta 12 could also be on the way, with the former tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday.
“If on Tuesday the remaining betaN hardblockers look at risk to land by Friday (2011-02-04) we will create beta 11 on Tuesday and plan on having a beta 12. Beta 12 will not have a fixed schedule and will instead be built when the remaining betaN hardblockers are at zero,” he said.
Firefox users can give the latest beta a spin from here.
