The battle for your wallet begins now.
Next up is the MSI P67A-GD65 which immediately struck me with its simplicity and clean layout. The color scheme was also very enticing; with the mirrored silver finish adding a nice contrast to the dark blue and black theme of the board.
Using the MSI P67A-GD65 was also a breeze, especially with their updated BIOS which makes things extremely simple. Overclocking this board was quite a pleasure, especially after the disappointment of the ECS board.
One of the features of the MSI P67A-GD65 is the Overclocking Genie II, which, once the button is pressed on the motherboard, allows for an automatic and extremely stable overclock of 4.2GHz. That’s a very impressive overclock with just the push of a button. Obviously this wasn’t enough for me, so I pushed the MSI P67A-GD65 even further, with a successful overclock of 4.7GHZ (on the air) with a Core voltage of 1.450v. That’s a bit on the higher end, but this kept the system completely stable and smooth throughout the tests.
