Geohotz explains his stance on the battle with Sony

Says he had no intentions of promoting piracy.

iOS and PS3 hacker GeoHotz has been in much of the news lately after he ripped open the PS3 platform for homebrew applications, a ‘jail break’ which he claims that even Sony can’t contain without issuing new hardware revisions. While Sony has decided to issue a lawsuit and a restraining order on the hacking tools, GeoHotz has been receiving full support from the PS3 community with the argument that one should be allowed to do whatever they wish once they have bought the device.

In an interview with G4′s The Loop, GeoHotz  explains that he never wished to promote piracy through his hacking, and actually took precautions that would prevent others from doing so.

“Then why is it exactly that you are being sued for?”

He gets a cheeky grin on his face and says, “For making Sony mad”.
