To unveil public-preview at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Tablet devices are expected to boom to almost 54.8 million in 2011, and that’s a lot of juice. And while the iPad and Android tablets has seen its share of ‘Safari-based’ feature browsers, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile still remain user favorites for its simplicity and speediness. Capitalizing on that market, Opera today has teased a new tablet-friendly browser to be unveiled at CES 2011.

The promotional video showcases a part of the new browser’s features like the all-new homescreen with tiles of your most visited and popular websites, smooth pinch-to-zoom, and Opera’s trademark speed.

“This is the first preview of Opera for tablets,” the video teases. “The Opera experience brings smooth panning, and smooth zooming. This is only the first sneak peek.”

Opera promises the first public-preview at the CES ’11 event, with more information to follow.
