To be nearly half the size of the current iPad.
According to a new report from Reuters, Apple is currently working on a new version of the iPad – a much smaller and compact version that will be as portable as a Touch yet still have the largeness of the iPad.
The mini-iPad (let’s call it that for now) will be nearly half the size of the current 9.7″ version of the iPad, and may feature front and rear cameras that the next big-iPad is rumored to have, according to sources close to the online publication.
In October, Steve Jobs had dismissed the idea of a small iPad, saying the screen would be “too small to express the software”, which is kind of ironic because iPad and iPhone/Touch feature basically the same ‘software’. But Apple has a habit of misleading the public off a good rumor. Apple had derided the idea of iPods playing videos before it announced video playback implementation in its music player range.
