2010: five surprises and disappointments

Five products that excited us and five that didn’t.

The MacBook Air turned out to be the disappointing product in this category. I have the original MacBook Air and had been holding out on upgrading for the last six months or so. Apple released an almost perfect version of the Air- sleeker design, SSD based and with better pixel densities. However, they removed something important to me- the backlit keyboard. Apple has spoilt me with their detail to attention, however, the lack of a backlit keyboard made me shy away from purchasing the new Air the day it was released.

On the other hand, the Lenovo Edge 11 was an extremely pleasant surprise. With its beautiful and sturdy design to it’s reasonable performance and high portability, the Edge 11 won me over. If I was to buy a Windows notebook, this would be it.
