The new king of the hill.

Now let’s go to our testbed where this behemoth will be put through its paces.  Our testbed comprises of an Intel Core i7 965 EE with 3GB Corsair XMS3-1333 RAM on the ASUS II Rampage Extreme Motherboard. Drivers used were the latest Forceware 258.96 for the Nvidia cards and Catalyst 10.9 for the ATI cards. We’ll be comparing the N480GTX Lightning with the ATI HD 5970 and the ASUS Matrix 5870 Platinum.

The N480GTX Lightning goes toe to toe with the Matrix 5870, even outperforming it in the punishing Unigine Heaven benchmark, but it’s still overshadowed by the HD 5970.
