Ford demos its new car technology at Gitex 2010.

Much like smartphones, cars are evolving from doing much more than the basic ‘point A to point B’. Ford’s latest car technologies that comes equipped in the Ford Edge 2011 is a testament to that. The MyFord Touch Driver Connect technology replaces many of the traditional buttons and knobs to a more centralized touch and voice guided solution that can handle everything from ambient lighting, to climate control, to music, mobile phone and internet connectivity and more.

Ford Edge 2011 with MyFord Drive Connect Technology equipped.

MyFord Touch joins SYNC; Easy Fuel; SecuriCode keyless entry keypad; Blind Spot Mirrors (standard); Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert; MyKey; AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control); and Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support round out the list of available class-exclusive technologies on the new 2011 Edge. Additionally, the new Edge Sport also features class-exclusive standard 22-inch wheels, paddle activation and a whopping 305 NET hp delivered by the new 3.7L V6 Ti-VCT.

Ford had a uniquely ‘cut-out’ presentation of its new car tech that aptly demonstrated how cars are beyond just driving.
