“Even Microsoft doesn’t have unlimited resources”.

Microsoft announced on last Thursday that no CDMA versions of Windows Phones 7 devices will be available when it launches later this year. Instead, they will be made available next year.

“Even Microsoft doesn’t have unlimited resources. We had to prioritize doing fewer things, really, really well”, Greg Sullivan, Microsoft Senior Product Manager, told CNET news.

“For the worldwide market, the vast majority of phones are GSM phones, so we focused on GSM first and then plan to deliver an update that will have great CDMA support in the first half of 2011,” Sullivan said

While this won’t adversely affect users in the UAE or the GCC, those who planned to buy from providers like Sprint or Verizon are out of luck.
