HTC updates its popular Desire lineup with two new Android handsets.
It’s raining smartphones people! First it was Nokia who announced the C6 and C7 smartphones, followed by LG with its Optimus One and Chic. Now, at a London-based press event, HTC unveiled two smartphones of its own: HTC Desire HD and Desire Z.
HTC Desire HD
The HTC Desire HD can be called the EVO for the GSM-friendly crowd. It will sport a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, 720p video recording, WiFi b/g/n, HSAP+ radio and will run on Android 2.2 with an updated HTC Sense UI. The phone will be powered by a 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor.
HTC Desire Z
The Desire Z will be smaller with a 3.7-inch screen but with similar features like 8MP camera with dual-LED, 720p recording, WiFi b/g/n, HSAP+ radio and the new Sense UI. However, it will tack on a full-QWERTY keyboard.
Both the devices are expected to hit shelves in October. UAE release date still unconfirmed.
