Second largest handset maker joins the tablet PC bandwagon.
Nokia, Dell, HP, LG and now Blackberry are some of the high-brand manufacturers that have taken cue from Apple and have gotten aboard the tablet PC train. The latest addition to the list of manufactures smitten by the tempting tablet PC pie is Samsung who will be releasing a tablet competitor by the third quarter of this year.
Samsung said to Reuter that its tablet PC will have a 7-inch screen, right in the middle of Dell Streak’s 5-inch display and Apple iPad’s 9.7-inch display. The tablet will be running on Android. It gave no further details.
By releasing their device in Q3 2010, Samsung hopes to have an edge over its local rivals LG who plans to release their Android tablets by the fourth quarter.
